September 2010

The Gauteng Chapter held an event on the 3 August. Adv Feroze Boda spoke to an audience of 96 people on "Challenging the CCMA's jurisdiction to conciliate disputes and the review of certificates of outcome"

On the 14 September Adv Franklin presented on "Team misconduct and the dismissal of employees for collectively failing to control shrinkage an analysis of the LAC's judgment in Foschini Group v Maidi".

On 22 September, John Brand, director at Bowman Gilfillan presented "Strikes in Essential Services". Download it here.

June 2010

The Chapter has held 2 seminars in this last period. Hans van der Riet hosted a very well attended (105) seminar on Labour Brokers the future in March. In April Adv Mooki spoke on second generation outsourcing, and this seminar was well received. Our AGM and next seminar was held on the 25 May, and Tembeka Ngcuitkatobi presented on "whistle blowing" 54 people attended and the Seminar was very interesting.

Since January 2010, there have been 62 new members, and the total current membership is 398, but several still have to renew their membership.  There are 37 International members
