Please read about joining the International Society for Labour
and Social Security Law
(ISLSSL) and we encourage you to join this society.
When renewing their membership for 2008, SASLAW members will
again have the
opportunity of joining the International Society for Labour
and Social Security Law (ISLSSL)
at a cost of R50.00 per annum in addition to the normal membership
fee.
This small amount will not only entitle members to continue
receiving the regular ISLSSL Bulletin with information about
activities around the world; it will also give access to working
groups and networking opportunities with labour law experts
in many countries, including most of Europe, North America
and Australia.
The ISLSSL is by far the most prestigious organisation of
its kind in the world. Its leadership over the years have
included some of the best-known labour law authorities internationally,
including Professor Arturo Bronstein (the current President),
Professor Clyde Summers, Roger Blanpain, Manfred Weiss, Antoine
Lyon-Caen, Paul Davies and many others.
With the increasing internationalisation of business and
legal practice, and the increasing reliance placed by our
courts on international and foreign law, access to expertise
of this quality is an important resource in expanding our
knowledge of labour law and adding value to the service we
provide.
The option of ISLSSL membership will be indicated on the
Application form. Apart from ticking it and adding the membership
fee, no other formality is required.
