Judge Whitcher - Judge Whitcher holds a B (Journ), LL.B, and LL.M degree and is currently a Judge of the Labour Court of South Africa. She has previously been a lecturer in the Faculty of Law at UKZN, lecturing in Labour Law and evidence. She was primarily a practicing attorney initially with Chennells Albertyn and Tanner and then Brett Purdon Attorneys. She has been a bargaining council arbitrator and a former part-time Senior Commissioner of the CCMA. She has published journal articles on labour law and is co-author of the book Trade Unions and the Law in South Africa as well as Co-author of The Law of Evidence in South Africa: Basic Principles, Oxford. Judge Whitcher was a legal officer for NUMSA and acted as an assessor in the former Labour Appeal Court.
Andrew Prior – An admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa having 34 years in practice. An admitted Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He holds the degrees of B. Proc (UNISA) and LLM (Natal). Andrew has been involved in labour law since 1987/1988 when he was called to deal with major strikes in the Hospitality Industry.
Mark Futcher - An admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and has over 20 years extensive experience in labour related matters, appearing in various forums such as Bargaining Councils, CCMA, Labour Court and High Court. In addition Mark has lectured Labour law, contract law, insurance and agency at UKZN as well as being an accredited LEAD instructor, external examiner at UKZN and a Director on the Institute for Practical Legal training. Mark is a member of the IMBER association of attorneys.
